Karam Al-Maloukh is from Ramallah, Palestine. He was incarcerated by the Zionist entity in Al-Naqab prison for three years, from 2004 to 2007, at the age of 17. Karam was taught to sew and embroider by fellow inmates, including long-term political prisoners, who were adept at making gifts for loved ones in the outside world. Embroidery's slow and laborious nature makes it an unlikely medium for protest art, an embodiment of the steadfastness of Palestinian resistance. (Click image to keep exploring)
